Almond Coconut Chocolate Spread
In Connecticut, where I grew up, my main coconut experience were the almond coconut chocolate bars (you know which one). That changed when I visited Sasha’s ancestral home in Southern India for the first time in 2010. Coconut is a staple in the regional cuisine there, integrated into breakfast, lunch and dinner courses. Needless to say we both love coconut! So when we were dreaming up new flavor combinations for Barefoot & Chocolate, coconut was at the forefront. Creamy coconut, roasted almonds, Fair Trade Cocoa- we think it’s tropical perfection destined to become a new American classic!
Serving suggestions: Spread it on rustic bread with a few sliced bananas, dip pretzel sticks in it, use it with graham crackers to make S’mores, dollop it on apple slices, or just on toast with your morning chai.
