Hazelnut Chocolate Spread Cups
Peanut butter cups are great, but these Hazelnut Chocolate Spread cups are outstandingly amazing!
- 1 LB – Solid Dark Chocolate – chips or a solid bar, break up into piece if using a bar
- 1 – 10oz jar of Barefoot & Chocolate Hazelnut Chocolate Spread
- 1 TSP – Sea Salt (optional)
Gently melt solid chocolate in microwave or over stovetop, if using stove top I recommended that you use a bain marie
Place one paper muffin cup in each space in the muffin tin. Pour one spoon of melted chocolate into each cup. Move the muffin tin in circular motion tilting each side up for a few seconds to allow chocolate to stick to side of the muffin cup walls. The chocolate should be covering only about 1/3 inch up the side of the cup from the bottom. Place the muffin tin in the fridge for 15 minutes to set.
Gently heat Barefoot & Chocolate – hazelnut chocolate spread in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds to loosen consistency. Remove the muffin tray from the fridge and place one small spoon of hazelnut chocolate spread into the center of each cup. Shake the tray to evenly distribute the spread in the cup. Refrigerate for 15 minutes.
Once cooled, remove the tray from the refrigerator and top each cup with a small spoon of the melted dark chocolate. You will need to re-melt the chocolate if using the microwave method. Once chocolate is spooned in gently shake and rotate muffin tin slightly tilting up each side to ensure even coverage. Sprinkle each cup with sea salt if so desired. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set, 1 hour preferred (if you can wait!)
